ChaoticDust Attracts

ChaoticDust Attracts is the first product from ChaoticDust - a product designed to produce beautiful renderings of strange attractors. Simple maths produces stunning scatterings of dust over a canvas. Attracts lets anyone explore and get lost in the world of attractors with an easy to use, uncluttered interface.

ChaoticDust

ChaoticDust makes products that bring fractals, attractors and other mathematical wonders to life in a friendly, interesting and most importantly, pleasing way. We aim to make software that is accessible and exposes the beauty of the underlying maths, while keeping said maths well away from those who don't care about such things.

Technology

Our products are written in C# for Windows, with the emphasis on software only rendering - mainly to prove a point that higher levels of abstraction doesn't mean awful performance, and that you don't need a big expensive PC to 'do graphics'. We're also currently looking into porting/developing under Mac OS X.

Most of ChaoticDust Attracts was written with Microsoft's excellent Visual C# Express, running under the rather splendid Parallels on a frighteningly shiny MacBook. An eccentric and diverse set of tools, to put it mildly.

People

Although all the above refers to the 'us' and 'we', ChaoticDust still remains the technical playground of Dom Crayford - a Yorkshire/Scotland based software engineer who does this in his spare time. Dom enjoys this stuff, playing with all things technical, learning stuff, running, climbing, photography, life and talking about himself in the third person.
